Anger
Anger is part of being human — a signal that something feels unfair, hurtful, or wrong.
But when it takes over, it can damage your relationships, your peace, and your connection with Allah.
You have more control than you think — with Allah’s help, you can turn even your most heated moments into acts of strength, dignity, and reward.
Quranic Verse For Anger
To get the most out of these verses see the Before You Begin section
Hurry towards your Lord’s forgiveness and a Garden as wide as the heavens and earth prepared for the righteous,
who give, both in prosperity and adversity, who restrain their anger and pardon people - God loves those who do good
— Ali ’Imran (3:133/134)
When anger rises — remember: this is an opportunity to earn Allah’s love.
Holding back isn’t weakness. It’s strength. It’s sabr.
What you choose in that moment can shape your character, repair relationships, and bring you closer to Jannah.
Practical Exercise To Try Today
Anger Awareness — Pause Before You React
When anger rises — even in something small — practice a one-breath pause:
1. Stop and take a slow, deep breath.
2. Hold it for a moment.
3. As you exhale, say to yourself: “This is a test. I choose restraint. I choose Allah’s reward.”
That single pause creates space between feeling and reaction.
Even just noticing the anger without acting on it is a step forward.
Over time, that pause becomes your strength — a moment of mercy over impulse.

Over To You - Reflection Prompts
Lasting change takes effort. It begins when you think deeply and honestly.
Choose a prompt.
Write it out. Reflect with intention.
What situations or triggers bring out my anger most often?
How can I remind myself in the moment that this is a chance to earn Allah’s love?
What small action can I take today to practice more patience or forgiveness?
When was the last time I forgave someone — and how did it feel afterward?
Have I ever regretted staying calm? Have I ever regretted lashing out?
What’s beneath my anger right now — hurt, fear, frustration, or something else?
